Blue Fringe plays a diverse array of music, mixing original material with popular Jewish and secular songs. This allows them to appeal to all audiences from high schools, colleges, summer camps, synagogues, and even New York City theaters. It is this aspect that makes Blue Fringe so unique.

Composed of four Yeshiva University students, the band has created a new twist on Jewish music. With influences ranging from Diaspora Yeshiva Band to John Mayer, to Victor Wooten, the band has developed a modern rock/pop sound of its own. With original Jewish songs, both in English and Hebrew, the band weaves Jewish themes into popular music.

Dov Rosenblatt, the lead singer and rhythm guitarist, writes most of the band's songs. In Israel, late 1999, he recorded his hit single, "Flipping Out," which soon crossed the Atlantic Ocean to fill the airwaves of Jewish radio shows across the United States. Avi Hoffman, lead guitarist and also a songwriter, brings his distinct style of guitar playing to life as he electrifies audiences with his complex and "tasty" solos. Danny Zwillenberg, the band's drummer, brings rhythms from all genres of music, including reggae, funk, and rock, into his playing. The bassist, Hayyim Danzig, gives the group its soul with his bass-lines deeply rooted in classical funk and jazz.

Blue Fringe prides itself on being a "live band". Their energy on stage is infectious, as the crowd inevitably leaves their seats to dance along. Impressing college students, high school students, and families, in venues from 200 seats to 1100 seats, the band has captivated Jewish audiences, religious and non-religious alike, up and down the East Coast.
